After the Fed once again kept interest rates steady, Powell told reporters he intends to remain on the Board of Governors, even as he prepares to hand over the chairmanship to Kevin Warsh next month. He stated he plans to maintain a 'low profile.' 'My concern really lies with the series of legal attacks against the Fed, which threaten our ability to conduct monetary policy without political considerations,' Powell told the press, referring to the Justice Department's criminal investigation against him, which has already been dismissed. However, the Justice Department has indicated it would reopen the investigation if circumstances warranted.
